Text Box: Text Box: Accupuncture is not appropriate when life-threatening or severe trauma conditions exist but it can be very effective in treating a wide variety of problems. The World Health Organization (WHO) has created a list of conditions that acupuncture has been shown to effectively treat. The list is as follows:

Text Box: Some CHI patients who have had surgical procedures including complicated surgeries such as spinal fusion have visited Jill both pre and post-operatively to manage their surgical pain and report excellent results. Other CHI patients with chronic back pain routinely schedule acupuncture appointments at CHI and they have realized a significant reduction in back pain intensity and frequency. Recently, a CHI patient who had a severe sinus infection for twelve (12) days visited Jill because, despite all of the usual medications he was taking for the infection, he felt terrible. After his acupuncture treatment, the patient felt better within one hour and within five hours his head was clear and he felt “great.”
Typically, acupuncture treatments will include an initial evaluation and recommended follow-up treatment plans. The acupuncturist will first treat obvious acute symptoms and will then isolate and treat the “root” cause of the disorder as treatment continues. Acupuncture is most effective when treatment continues as suggested by the acupuncturist. Many patients who have visited Jill for an acute problem have now made acupuncture a routine component in their health and wellness program.
Jill is available Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is at her other location in Point Loma the remainder of the week. In certain circumstances, Jill will make house calls and occasionally will be available on weekends.
